And that's why I think that the open "embracers", or tango nuevo folks are missing out. The "hold" of a couple separated by 12 inches isn't really an "embrace," is it? After all, the tango is 2 hearts beating as one, one body with 4 legs, etc. It sounds corny perhaps, but that's where tango bliss comes from--and great dancing. And if you're looking down at your or your partner's feet, how can you ever enter "the zone?" If folks are uncomfortable dancing in a tight embrace, maybe they should take up salsa or ballroom?
