The cabeceo is for the benefit of both men and women. And it&#039;s not for picking the very &quot;best dancers&quot; to dance with, but for who YOU want to dance with for whatever reason. And as Joli pointed out, it&#039;s for the men as well as the women.
Who says it&#039;s not about having fun? It&#039;s more fun to dance with someone who you want to dance with.
The cabeceo is not an easier way to reject someone, but a more civilized system of selecting partners, of &quot;choosing someone.&quot; The Argentines invented tango and know how to behave in milongas; after all, they&#039;ve been perfecting it for 150 years.
Why should Americans, or anybody else, try to reinvent the wheel?</description>
